MEET THE BAND » NAO

Hi everyone,
This is Nao. Thanks for checking out my page - if you would allow me to tell you a little about myself. Well, I'm one of the newest members of Paradise. As I'm writing this, it would be a year that I've been in Paradise. It has been an interesting year performing with the rest of the band, and I'm very lucky to have been able to be accepted in the band.

Here is some personal stuff - prior to joining Paradise, I've been actively involved in pursuing my own music career, and still am. So I've probably been playing guitar for about 12 years now. I love to learn new things, especially music. Thus, I'm always listening to different kids of music. I listen to everything from classical to Middle Eastern Indian Music. Actually I find Indian Music to be totally interesting and beautiful right now - I'm really into it! But continuing - I play guitar for those of you who don't know yet. My main personal musical goal right now is to master Flamenco guitar. I'm studying it with a master who lives in San Franciscso. For the last six years, that has been my passion. I eat, sleep, and breathe flamenco guitar. It is difficult to say the least. It's a combination of math, coordination, endurance, and artistry. Anyhow, I could talk forever about it, but will spare you the boredom. I'm also attending Fresno State University, trying to (the emphasis on trying) get a degree in Anthropological research. Doing that, and devoting myself to two bands leaves little time for a personal life - like no personal life. But that's ok with me right now. I want to learn as much as I can when I still can. Other than playing music, I enjoy running and doing muay thai kickboxing. It really kicks my butt and keeps me in shape. So my theory is as long as I can play guitar and kickbox - I'm a happy man.

Someday when I'm able to, I want to use the information that I've accumulated to help others who came from similar backgrounds such as mine. Remember, everything great in history has always started off as a simple dream in some kids conscious, so if you want something bad enough - I say go for it! The worst thing that I could image myself doing is saying "I used to do that" and "I wish I would have tried that." As the old saying goes, life is short, so live it to the best of your ability - well, something like that. See ya at the concerts and thanks again.
